Intro to Ultra
Ready to take on a new challenge?
Our Intro to Ultra adventure is designed for runners who are looking to up their endurance running or take on new challenges. Whether you're marathon training or looking to progress to distances including 50km, 100km, 100 miles and everything in between this longer run will be a chance to tap into knowledge of all things endurance running. Over the course of a morning we'll head out onto the trails for a 24km / 15 mile run where we will focus on everything ultra, including; running technique, kit advice, how to pack your running pack, nutrition, navigation and route finding and mastering different trail terrain.

Intro to Ultra will help to you to prepare, ensuring that you've accounted for the basics to give yourself the best chance of completion.

Ultra kit can be complicated. Races often have mandatory kit with special requirements. We're here to make it easier. We'll go over the different types of kit that you'll need, from looking at different features, to getting the right size pack, how to pack your pack and different shoes for different terrains.
For Runners of All Abilities
Intro the Ultra is for anyone looking to take on the challenge of an ultra marathon. No matter what your running ability and whether it's your first, or you have a few under your belt, there will be something for everyone. We'll be on hand with tips and tricks to help you take on your new challenge.
Everything Ultra
We'll go over any questions that you have and cover everything ultra. From getting the most out of your GPS watch, navigation and reading routes to nutrition; when to eat and what to eat through to recovery after your ultra marathon.
FAQs
This will be a social run, not a race, with lots of opportunities to stop and ask questions. We recommend that you have a good level of fitness and are able to run for 15 miles/24km at approximately 11 min/miles.
The route takes in a variety of terrain from forests, fields, tracks and trails. There is a some elevation and we keep the road running kept to a minimum.

We would recommend carrying at least 1 litre of water for this run as we’ll be out on the trails for a couple of hours at a time before replenishing supplies.
We’ll send an email during the week before the run with all of the information that you need. If you haven’t received any information two days before the run, please contact us.
About the Day
A brief timeline of your running adventure. All timings are approximate and subject to change.
The day gets underway at 9:15am where you’ll get an introduction to the adventure, what to expect and a brief of the route and terrain.
You’ll head out onto the trails with our Run Leaders who will guide you on our trail run. This is your chance to learn about everything ultra!
We’ll wrap up our Intro to Ultra and you will have the chance to catch up with the rest of the group over a beer or coffee.
